On Sunday 15 April, York City Futsal Club took on top of the table London Helvecia at the University of York.  York City Futsal are dangerously close to the relegation places and needed a good performance to lift their spirits.

It was never going to be an easy game, London Helvecia are the top scorers in the league this season.  Unfortunately it started badly for York and they were 3-0 down after only 5 minutes.  York did manage to threaten the Helvecia goal later in the half but a another goal from Helvecia, just before the break, left the half time score as York trailing 4-0.

In a much better second half, York were a stronger threat and took the game to their opposition.  They had several good chances and scored early on through Robbie Bettson.  Helvecia always looked dangerous on the counter-attack and scored to make the final score 5-1.  The scoreline didn’t really reflect the game, as it was a much tighter affair and a moral lifting performance from York.
