postAs is the tradition at Pro Coaching Academy, the last week of each half term we have a mini tournament with each of the coaches having a team.  We use the tournament for the players to show what they have learnt about futsal over the previous weeks.

With Coach Suzy still away, a surprise appearance from Coach Chris enabled 3 coach lead teams.  The teams were Team Andy – Katie S, Abbi and Zoe, Team Simon – Beth S, Katie and Ruby and Team Chris – Phoebe & Kim.

Normal futsal rules with the extra bonus of a 1 touch finish being worth 3 goals.  Each team played each other twice in 6 minute matches.

The girls results were as follows:

Team Andy 4 – 4 Team Simon – Last gasp equaliser from Team Andy.

Team Simon 14 – 10 Team Chris – Plenty of one touch finishes!

Team Chris 0 – 7 Team Andy – No goals for Team Chris, a first…

Team Andy 6 – 3 Team Simon – Last gasp winner from Team Andy.

Team Simon 2 – 4 Team Chris – Dodgy refereeing in this game!

Team Chris 4 – 3 Team Andy – Revenge from the first game!

So Team Andy came out on top, Team Chris second and Team Simon winning the wooden spoon.

The boys lined up as follows Team Andy – Sam B, Luke and Noah, Team Chris – Kaan, Joel and Oli and Team Simon – Logan, Adam, Sean and Aiden.

The results were as follows:

Team Andy 0 – 10 Team Simon – Great start from Team Simon

Team Simon 0 – 2 Team Chris – Very close game with two late goals.

Team Chris 9 – 0 Team Andy – Hat-trick for Oli.

Team Andy 0 – 4 Team Simon – Great goal from Aiden.

Team Simon 0 – 6 Team Chris – Kaan with a 3 pointer!

Team Chris 7 – 1 Team Andy – Closer than the score suggests.

The final table revealed top of the pile was Team Chris, second was Team Simon and Team Andy got the wooden spoon.

Coach Chris said after ‘It was brilliant to come down and meet all the new players.  Andy and Suzy have said what a great group they are and they are not wrong.  The tournament always brings out the competitive element in all players and I’m glad to have been involved.  A huge thank you to Andy for his help this half term, he is a quality coach and his knowledge is greatly appreciated.  We start back on the first Monday of the New Year term, and we look forward to everyone returning!
