Here is some information from the NSPCC, as part of Parents In Sports Week, about sending your child on a sports summer camp, and above all else, keeping them safe.

They say – ‘It’s important to choose a club or activity that’s right for your child and you. Most clubs offer a taster session prior to your child signing up. This allows your child and you to speak to staff and coaches, and look around the facilities to see what’s on offer before you both come to a decision.’

All organisations and coaches running sessions for children should:

  • Have a named welfare or safeguarding officer
  • Have a safeguarding policy or statement
  • Run DBS checks on their staff and volunteers
  • Ask for your consent, contact details and any medical details

Bootham Futsal Club tick all the above boxes and are passionate about Child Safety and Welfare in Sport.
