Last Wednesday night Rawcliffe girls started their pre-season training for the new U15 league campaign in the City of York Girls Football League.

After finishing 6th last season with a brand new group of players, expectation is higher this year.  Last season the team was made up from two sides combining together and it took a while for them to gel.  The team didn’t win a game until their 7th match but then went from strength to strength finishing with a run of 6 wins, 4 draws and only 2 defeats.

Head coach Chris, of Pro Coaching Academy, said ‘We really want to push on from last season and try to finish a couple of places higher.  Personally, I would like them to beat one of the sides that finished above them last year, we managed some very hard-fought draws against them, but a win would really prove to the girls how much they have improved.  I good cup run would also be good for the team this year.’

Team manager David said, ‘The girls really enjoyed the first session back after the summer break, and after 10 minutes of catching up with each other, it was if they have never been away.  The effort they put in was excellent all round.  Our new player Charlotte, fitted straight into the team and she really enjoyed it.

The girls first game is on Saturday 9th September, but with the fixtures yet to be published, the girls are keen to get going.

Good luck to Rawcliffe U15 Girls from all at Pro Coaching Academy for the forthcoming season!
