While some teenagers were sitting in their bedrooms on phones and games consoles, Bootham Futsal Club assistant Katie spent her half term starting her coaching journey.

She spent 4 days under the tutorage of York City FC Foundation, tackling the Sports Leaders Level 1 qualification. The course included thinking about what a leader looks like, planning a coaching session and leading a session to some younger players.

Katie is currently studying a 3 year BTEC in Sports and Exercise Science at York College and her ambition is to one day work either in the Premier League or the Spanish La Liga.
