Its Been A Busy Year For Head Coach Chris!
We asked Coach Chris to have a look back on what has been a very busy year for him and the teams he works with.
In conversation he said, ‘It is hard to pick out just one highlight of the year, but I am extremely excited about Bootham Futsal Club York, in such a short time we have attracted some amazing players, I can’t wait for next year!
Manor Futsal Club sold out for the first time ever, and we even have a waiting list, so futsal at the school is very set now. The school was awarded some futsal kit from the Football Foundation, so we now have access to competition goals on site! The Manor Futsal Cup was a brilliant tournament and the pupils are asking us when we are doing it again!
It was also a fantastic opportunity to be asked to coach at York City Futsal Club, under the tutorage of Junior Roberti. I have so much respect for him and what he does for futsal, again, I can’t wait for next year.
In football, it was a privilege to be asked back to coach at York City Football Academy, and with Russ Penn, we are working with a fantastic group of U13s, who, after a rough start, have started to show what good players they really are.
Rawcliffe Girls, with David Cragg are becoming a force to be reckoned with in their league and finished the year with 7 clean sheets in a row.
On the coach education front, I started both my UEFA B course in football and futsal, and I am hoping to get them both passed by the Summer of 2018. I also qualified as a football scout by passing my FA Talent ID Level 2.’

Manor Futsal Club – 68 hours coached.
Bootham Futsal Club – 11 hours coached.
York City Futsal Club – 8 hours coached & 1 match managed.
Rawcliffe U15s Girls Football Club – 20 hours coached, 25 matches & 3 tournaments assisted.
York City Academy Football Club – 156 hours coached, 27 football matches & 1 futsal match managed.
Other Futsal Tournaments – 2 managed.
Football and development courses – 9 attended.
What will 2018 bring for Coach Chris, hopefully much more of the same?
