It was the last session of futsal at Manor CE Academy before the Easter break, so we had two full matches!

First up were the girls and we welcomed back Melody, great kid, always full of smiles, brilliant to see her again!  It was Coach Chris’s first time back for quite a while and he was suitably impressed by the way the girls had progressed.  He said ‘ The girls were looking for space, playing the simple pass and trying to keep the ball moving, great to watch.’

Coach Suzy/Simon’s side were always just that one goal ahead and Coach Chris’s team just couldn’t catch up.  Goal poacher on the night was Phoebe, who scored a couple from right in front of the goal, they all count!

For all their hard work over the half term all the players were rewarded with an early Easter Egg, not that many of the eggs made it out of the sports hall!

We had a full set of players tonight for the boys and it was great for Coach Chris to see the new players.  He was suitably impressed, especially by the twins Aiden and Owen.  He said ‘They try and play the game in the simplest way, passing and moving, fantastic to watch.  They covered every area of the court, with attacking and defending, and never stopped running.  Both were brilliant tonight!’

The match was very even for the first half with goals being scored and answered in quick succession, with the goal of the first half being a screamer from Joel.  After the break and a change of ends, Coach Chris’s team finally got on top and started to pull away.

A huge thank you to everyone who has attended this half term, we are up on lasts years attendance figures which is great for the future of the club.  Have a great Easter and we will see you all in late April.
