Bootham Ladies’ Futsal Club – York are looking for exciting companies and individuals to assist them in their second season in the FA Futsal Women’s Super Series North. We are looking to form partnerships that are mutually beneficial to both parties.
Bootham Girls’ Futsal Club – York formed in 2017 with four junior members. Since that day the club has grown and was the first female only FA Charter Standard Futsal Club in the North Riding County FA region. Today the club has over sixty academy members from U8s to U16s and twenty ladies all representing the club. The ladies team was formed in 2021, changing the name of the club to Bootham Girls’ & Ladies’ Futsal Club – York, and joined the FA Futsal League in early 2022.
The ladies team is very important to the overall ethos of the organisation, as it provides a full pathway from the very young to whatever age you wants to be involved – one of the ladies team is in her 40s and still playing!
The costs of running a team in a national league is larger than you think, with travel to matches all over the North of England, registration and insurance fees, sports hall cost, equipment, match and training kit to name just a few.
With the success of the England Lionesses winning the European Championship, there has never been so much interest in female football, and futsal is the natural partner to this.
‘The ladies team represent real role models for the rest of the players at the club, and we want these younger players to have the desire to play for the ladies. In our first season, we saw six academy graduates represent the ladies team in the national league, and this season two more will join this group. All the coaches and club representatives are volunteers and give their valuable time for free. Please help us in anyway you can, be that financial or otherwise. Your help is vital to the success of our club, thank you.’ – Chairman, Chris Collins
