This morning I get a call from a good friend of mine asking me to do some graphics work for his business – FootGolf York. So, Suzy and I ‘rushed’ down to see what it is all about and mainly to have a go!
FootGolf is a cross between football and golf but instead of using a club you kick the ball from the tee into the hole. We played 9 holes and it took us just under an hour, but you can play the full 18 should you desire.
Needless to say, we were rubbish but the time flew by. We stopped keeping score after the third hole as it was taking that many ‘kicks’ to get the ball in the hole.
I would seriously suggest you go and have a go over summer! The guy who runs it all is Pete Salter. Forget he is from deepest darkest London, and a Chelsea fan, he is actually a top bloke!
Contact him on 01904 470549 or email firstname.lastname@example.org or look at the website www.ukfootgolf.com.
It is open everyday from 9.00am to dusk. By the time you managed to get down and have a go, there will be hot and cold food, a licensed bar, BT Sport showing on a big screen and parking is free.
I am going to organise a trip there for York RI Girls towards the end of August. Look out for the posters and flyers popping up around York, and remember I did them!!
