We started the session with a photo of the U10s and U12s holding the brand new defibrillator that we will be donating to Clifton Green Primary School – look out for the full story coming soon! We still have another one to give away, just get in touch if you are interested!
This week we worked with the younger group on being strong in possession. This started with a small square and some 1v1s, that progressed to 1v2s and finally 2v2 with help from team mates around the square. The challenge for both players in possession and out of possession was could they keep the ball in the square!
Player of the week for the younger group was Isabella L – she has not been with the club long but has shown a willingness to learn and is improving each and every week. She also has a great turn of pace which is going to cause defenders a load of trouble in the future. Great start to your futsal career, well done Isabella!
With the FA Futsal Youth Cup due to start in January next year, the older group concentrated on the game player, and especially keeping possession of the ball from a restart. This involved playing the ball very short to a team mate, and using the full width and depth of the court. We also added the rule that if you kicked the ball out of play, the opposition got a corner.
Player of the week for the older group was Kiera L – Since joining the club, Kiera has shown a real eye for goal, and has scored bucketful of goals in every training session. We can’t wait to see how she does in the Futsal qualifiers early next year – opposition teams watch out! A real talent, well played Kiera!
I am still amazed at the amount of money the club was able to raise. We set out with the hope of buying one defibrillator and ended up with three! The girls were simply amazing, they went out of their way to get sponsored, to show how much the club means to them. I am truly humbled by their commitment – what a fantastic club we have. Thank you, thank you and thank you – Chairperson Chris
