In Sunday 13th May 2018, Rawcliffe U15s entered two teams in the annual Railway Institute Girls’ football tournament in York.

After getting both teams to the semi-final of the cup competition last year, could they go one better this time?  We welcomed Alice into the Rawcliffe team for her first game and all the girls, parents and coaches made her feel very welcome.

Well, after some very hard matches on an increasingly hot day, Coaches Chris’s team had won 5 out 5.  Chloe’s got her first goal of the season, click here for Tegan’s video of this landmark event, helping to beat Cottingham Rangers 1-0, last years winners.  David’s team ran out runners-up in their league meaning we had an all Rawcliffe semi-final!  Both teams desperately wanted to win, but it was Coach Chris’s that ran out 1-0 winners and went onto the final.

They met Cottingham Rangers again and just ran out of steam, losing the final 2-0, but both Rawcliffe teams had exceeded all expectations, so we had smiles all round!

Well done to Chloe, Tegan, Megan 1, Megan 2, CJ, Katie, Kim, Mia, Alice, Drew, Laura and Lauren, great performances from both sides and everyone a real credit to the club.
