Last Sunday, York City Futsal took on Derby Futsal in their last home game of an already dominate season.  They were looking to keep their unbeaten record going against second in the league, Derby.

Manor CE Academy Futsal club took several players to watch a futsal game the first time, and they weren’t disappointed with plenty of goals and goalmouth action throughout the whole game.

York started strongly and took the lead after 3 minutes with a well worked goal from captain Daniel Pedras.  Derby then hit the post on a quick break before they grabbed an equaliser when Jamie Bettson could only knock the ball into his own net.  York retook the lead with a brilliant solo goal from James Briars.  Joe Iggulden got York’s third before Derby got one back with a direct free kick.  Throughout the first half, Philip Codd pulled off several fantastic saves.

Half time: York Futsal 3 – 2 Derby Futsal

York took control of the second half with further goals from Daniel Pedras grabbing two more, another for James Briars and one for Luis Rodriguez.  Special mention goes to Jordan Grace who made his debut in the York goal, and pulled off a great one on one save in the dying minutes.

Full time: York Futsal 7 – 2 Derby Futsal

Another dominate performance from York with the whole squad getting a run out, and some notable performance from several key players.  So, York stand at 12 wins from 13 games, with one more away game to come and an FA Cup in the offering, the season is far from done at York.  With the rumour of a couple of top quality friendlies to come also, it is well worth getting down to watch!
