What a week! We have to say that every single player worked their socks off today, probably the best ever session for commitment, amazing to watch.

The younger group started with some running and dribbling with the ball. We had sets of cones and gates set out around the whole court for them to run around and through. We also worked on their longer passing, from one side and end of the court to the other.

They finished with some 3 minute games, in which the action was fast and furious. The attitude of this group is brilliant, and today the work rate was out of this world, just brilliant to watch.

The older group worked on some 2v2 play, with swapping from defence to attack in a constant practice. We added in two players next to the goal, which the attacking players could use to bounce passes off, making it a 4v2.

In the games at the end, we played 3 minutes of 3v3 on the full court, with the winners staying on. Great to see the goalkeepers bringing the ball out to try and make overloads in the opposition’s half!

Player of the week for the younger group was Katie – she is a delight to work with, always a huge smile on her face and lots of hard work going forward and in defence. She is always looking for the ball and today she did it all on her birthday! Well played, Katie!

Player of the week for the older group was Kimberly – a player who has huge potential in futsal and today showed why she is one of our strongest players. Great determination, good passing and even managed a goal or two. Well done, Kimberly, fantastic to watch!
