U10s Tournament

The U10s had 2 teams from Boro Rangers, Middlesbrough and one from Bootham Futsal Club. The games were in a round robin format, with each team playing each other twice in 8 minute games.

Bootham Futsal Club were represented by Lyla, Ruby, Katie, Faith, Poppy, Anna and Amelia.

In the first game, Bootham took an early lead through Poppy, and look good for a win, until Boro Rangers Blues equalised with the very last kick of the game. In their second game Bootham drew nil nil with a very strong Boro Rangers Red side, with Lyla making some great saves. In a repeat of game one, Bootham played their best futsal of the day to win 3-0 with goals from Katie and two from Poppy. With the results as they were, the last game became a winner takes all. Boro Rangers Reds raced into a 2-0 lead but Bootham came back with Faith scoring. The last few minutes were frantic but Bootham just couldn’t manage to force the ball home. So, winners of the U10s were Boro Rangers Reds, a very strong side and worthy winners.

Coach Chris said afterwards, ‘Wow, how well did they do, I was blown away by how hard they worked, everyone gave 100%, it was brilliant to watch.’

Player of the tournament was Ruby – she defended brilliantly in every single game. Her tackling was exceptional, and throughout the event, she never gave up.
