The last session of another half term, which can only mean tournament time for the girls and a full match for the boys!  We use the tournament for the players to show what they have learnt about futsal over the previous weeks.

A surprise appearance from Coach Chris enabled 3 coach lead teams.  The teams were Team Chris – Katie S, and Katie Twin, Team Simon – Abbi,  Zoe and Phoebe and Team Suzy – Kim and Beth.

Normal futsal rules with each team played each other twice in 6 minute matches.

The girls’ results were as follows:

Team Suzy 1 – 3 Team Simon – Team Suzy conceding two goals inside 30 seconds!

Team Chris 2 – 1 Team Simon – Screamer from Zoe for Team Simon.

Team Suzy 1  – 3 Team Chris – Brilliant chipped finish from Katie.

Team Suzy 3 – 1 Team Simon – More goals from demon striker Zoe.

Team Chris 2 – 1 Team Simon – Close game decided at the death by Katie Twin!

Team Suzy 0 – 1 Team Chris – Very close game to finish off!

So Team Chris came out on top, Team Simon second and Team Suzy winning the wooden spoon, but only by goal difference.

The boys lined up as follows for a whole futsal match with Team Orange – Mr Foster, Coach Suzy, Oli, Owen, Adam  and Katie, Team Yellow – Logan, Kim, Joel, Luke and Sam.

Mr Foster played the first half and Coach Suzy played the second half with their other duties being refereeing.

Team Orange started very well with good passing and movement around the court but came up against a keeper in fantastic form of Kim!  She was on a mission to stop everything going in!  At the other end the Yellows were scoring without too much problem at the interval lead 5-1.

Second half bought much the same with Kim still remaining resolute and not letting anything past her, fantastic performance in goal.  The final score ran was Team Orange 4 (Oli x4) – Team Yellow 10 (Joel x2, Luke x3, Sam x2 and Logan x3)

So that brought to the end another half term of futsal at Manor CE Academy.  It has been great working with the new players and we look forward to welcoming them all back after this short break.  We are talking to other schools about matches and hopefully we will organise a trip to see York City Futsal club play their last home game of this season in March.  Watch this space!
