Rawcliffe U15 Girls gained their first win of the new football season last Saturday, when they travelled to previously unbeaten Scarborough.  In a very close game, Rawcliffe snatched a 1-0 win with a scrambled goal from Laura.  In a game that could have gone either way, the girls battled hard throughout the whole match.

Pro Coaching Academy coach Chris Collins missed the game and said in conversation, ‘This is the second time I have missed a match and they have gone on to win!  I think I might have to hand in my resignation next week.  Seriously, the girls have been working really hard and I’m so pleased for them all.  Hopefully this is one of many.’

They followed this up this Saturday with a fantastic 0-0 draw with top of the table Brayton Belles.  In a closely fought battle the girls defended brilliantly and with a bit of luck, could have pinched a winner!  At the end of the game, Brayton’s manager said he thought Rawcliffe were the better side and deserved to win.  High praise indeed for the girls!

The team has once again been sponsored by Katie Edson of KE Accounting this season.  They offer a full range of accountancy services to small and medium-sized organisations, in the York and North Yorkshire areas.  Check out their website here.

Everyone at Pro Coaching Academy wishes the girls, coaches and parents the very best of luck for the forthcoming season.
