Two weeks back and we are absolutely loving it. Fantastic attitude and commitment from everyone, and the futsal just keeps getting better and better!

We also had two players come and try futsal, welcome to Freya and Maddi – we hope you had a fab time and hope to see you again very soon.

This week’s sessions were all about looking after the ball. In the first group we had 1v1s on the full pitch, then we got them to be brave and stand still. This progressed to having gates for them to run through when they won the ball and we finished with a 2 ball game, asking the girls to try and keep their head up all the time!

The older group worked on a full court possession game, getting them to move the ball but also to travel when right to do so. This progressed to a 6v3 in one half of the court, with the ball being transferred when the 3 won it. Some of the play, especially from the reds was fantastic to watch -quick, precise passing with plenty of movement off the ball. We finished with a game, with rolling subs being made every 30 seconds.

Special well done to Emma and Sophie for moving up to the older group, you both did fantastic and we are so proud of you! Two weeks back and our numbers are looking strong. If this continues over the next 2 or 3 weeks, we can safely say the future of the club looks very rosy.

Player of the week for the younger group was Jean – What a performance from one of our youngest player. She has come such a long way from the girl who first walked in – great passing, fantastic determination and always with a huge smile on her face. Awesome work, Jean!

Player of the week for the older group was Ava – For someone who has only just started in Futsal, her understanding of the game is unbelievable. Watching how she changed the way she was playing from the beginning to the end of session was superb to watch, definitely one to watch! Top marks, Ava!
