DenvaPro Coaching Academy coach Chris Collins always puts the team before the individual, but even he has to at times recognise a fantastic achievement when it happens!

On Wednesday night, at York Railway Institute U13s last training session of the year he presented team captain Denva with a framed certificate when she reached the milestone of 50 goals for her club.

In conversation afterwards he said ‘When I arrived at York RI, Denva had already been there for a season or so.  She immediately stuck in my mind as a female player who was fearless, her tackling was ferocious.  Also, who can forget the pink bow!  When I took sole charge of the team at U11 level I made her my captain, a decision I am very happy with today.’

He went on to say ‘She is a born leader, a great captain and someone who never gives up.  To score fifty goals at any level is a pretty good achievement, but to do it from midfield is very impressive!  She is one of the first names on the team sheet each and every week, not because she is a favourite, but because she tries 200% in every practise and match.  I know I can rely on her to give her all, and never let me, the team or herself down.’

Coach Suzy added ‘Denva is one of those people who when you meet her, you never forget her, for all the right reasons.  She is hard-working, and her dedication is second to none.  It has been a real honour to coach her and she is a real credit to her parents.’

From all at Pro Coaching Academy, a huge well done to you Denva, keep on scoring, and we look forward to reporting your 100th goal for York Railway Institute on this website!
