Through UK Coaching, Bootham Girls’ Futsal Club – York has been awarded a Duty To Care badge. This involved the club completing 5 pillars of competency in Safeguarding, Inclusion, Diversity, Well-Being and Mental Health.

Chairman and Head Coach Chris Collins said, ‘We want to make this club the best it can be, and awards like this are very important to us. They show to potential players and their families that we put the highest value on the welfare of all our members – be that players or coaches.’

He went on to say, ‘With the recent cases in sport, especially gymnastics, of poor practice, we want to make sure we stay ahead of all the current guidelines, and not just meet them but far exceed them.’
