Bootham Girls’ Futsal Club – York were today recognised for their fantastic contribution to grassroots football by receiving three nominations in the North Riding FA Grassroots Football Awards – 2020 Shortlist.

These are:

Grassroots Club Of The Year – Bootham Girls’ Futsal Club

Grassroots Volunteer Of The Year – Suzy Collins

Rising Star Of The Year – Katie Samson

In conversation chairman Chris Collins said, ‘Wow we are amazed and delighted at these nominations. It is fantastic for such a small organisation to be selected alongside some very big names within the County FA. I am especially pleased for Suzy and Katie, who have both done so much to make the club what it is today. Simply put, without them both we wouldn’t be where we are today.’

When asked about if they could win in any of the these categories, he said, ‘It would be very nice to win but I am eternally grateful for these nominations, it just goes to show we are doing something right. Nominations like this help to put us on the map, and any help futsal can get is very welcome. Good luck to everyone who has been nominated.’

Coach Suzy said, ‘I am really delighted and surprised at the nomination. It is exciting and it would be nice to win but just being nominated is amazing, thank you!’

Bootham Girls’ Futsal Club would especially like to thank Jasmin at NRCFA for all her hard work in helping us achieve what we have done so far, you are a legend!

The results are announced on Friday 3rd July, and everyone here has their fingers crossed!
