Bootham Girl’s Futsal Club – York are offering you the chance to bring your girls’ football team for a free futsal session.
You could be a player, a coach, a parent or a group of friends, as long as you represent a girls’ team, then we want to hear from you!
You can bring up to 12 girls of similar age, from U10s to U16s for a free one hour session, run either on a Friday evening or a Sunday morning at St Peters’ School in the centre of York.
We have only a limited number of sessions available, so don’t delay and get in touch NOW!
We are supported by Sport England and North Yorkshire Sports, who have invested and believe passionately in the project.
We have had friendlies against teams from Hull, Gateshead and even Australia! We ran the first ever York Futsal Cup last season, for U10s to U16s, and even managed to get two teams to the FA Youth Futsal Finals in Birmingham.
Pete Sturgess, former England Futsal manager and the FA’s National Lead Foundation Phase Coach for 5 to 11 year olds, says about futsal –
‘I have no doubt that Futsal is a real game changer. It’s an exciting, quick paced game of techniques, skill, tactics and physical endeavour that captures the imagination of all who come into contact with it.’
Futsal will dramatically improve your team’s footballing skills and fitness. The game is fast, end to end, provides lots of touches for all players with plenty of transitions.
All training and matches will always be on a Sunday, so not to clash or coincide with any grassroots football commitments. We are not using futsal to recruit girls to play football for any other clubs, we are solely a futsal club.
Your lead coach, and Pro Coaching Academy owner, will be Chris Collins. For four years he ran a very successful futsal club at Manor CE Academy. He coached two U12s and one U16s girls teams to the National Futsal Finals in Birmingham, as well as coaching a group of U14 girls to the finals of the FA People’s Cup in Sheffield. He is currently coaching the girls U14s at York City FC Foundation Tier 1 RTC, as well as coach at Rawcliffe U18 Girls, who play in the City of York Girls’ Football League.
He has passed his UEFA B Level 3 in Football and UEFA B Level 3 in Futsal, as well as a Level 2 FA Talent ID Scout. Click here to see his coaching certificates.
